Water bucket challenge

Here is a game for all ages on your street that will get you thinking about where your water goes and how you can save more.

Explore what it’s like to save loads of water for the day. The average person in the UK uses about 142 litres day and bills continue to soar. For this street challenge everyone taking part is allowed one bucket of water (10 litres or so) for the whole day. The aim is to try and use this for all your needs – drinking, washing, cooking, cleaning teeth, flushing the toilet.

·         Try saving the leftover water from washing people and food to put in the toilet cistern.

·         Do you need to flush the toilet every single time it is used?

·         Chat with your neighbours afterwards – what was it like? What ideas might you be able to use more often to save water?
